It was founded in 1969 as a campus of the Community College of Denver. It officially became the Red Rocks Community College, with a separate campus, on July 1, 1983. The second campus in Arvada opened in 1990. The Lakewood campus is spread across an area of 140 acres. The college offers over 650 courses in more than 150 Course Topics. It grants associate of arts degrees, associate of science degrees, associate of general studies degrees, and associate of applied science degrees to its students. RRCC is home to a wide variety of student clubs and organizations. Some of these are the anime club, billiards club, community film society, and frisbee club.
