About us
With globalization, executives are facing ever more difficult challenges. Cultural issues and financial and technology trends can be insurmountable roadblocks or tools for success.
Our courses provide a powerful combination of theory, practical knowledge and application. Participating executives develop new insights enabling them to lead their organizations through increasingly complex conditions and challenges.
Integrating theory and practice Using their extensive experience as business advisors, practitioners and thought leaders, the faculty who lead our programs emphasize the connection between theory and practical application through real-life examples and action-oriented learning approaches. This integration of knowledge and experience enables participants to develop relevant, breakthrough insights and enhances their capability to drive success.
Developing a peer network The intensity and design of our programs yields additional personal and professional benefits. Designated working groups provide an opportunity to share and refine personal action plansand develop new methods of collaboration and teamwork. They also yield lasting professional relationshipsthat provide ongoing support as participants return to their workplace challenges.
Achieving measurable results In each program, participants develop personal action plansfor applying the concepts learned to their individual business challenges. Through faculty coaching and extensive peer group collaboration, they create tangible means to achieve measurable results for their organizations. Through a unique research project, the Columbia Learning Impact Initiative, we have established rigorous performance measures to track participant success and continue to enhance the effectiveness of our programs.

Defining your personal case
Every open program in our portfolio uses an action-learning methodology that creates a direct link between the concepts learned and your individual business situation. Defining your case is often a component of pre-course work that you complete before the program begins. Once on site, faculty and peers provide coaching to help you develop and refine solutions to your case s issues. Your personal case is an important tool that facilitates your implementation of key insights gained through the program.
Developing a learning community
All of our programs are structured to maximize the exchange of ideas among participants and faculty members. Informal discussions about your ideas, questions and concerns are an important part of the learning experience. They are often the basis of powerful revelations and connections that continue long after the program ends.
Recognizing your commitment Each successful participant receives an individual certificate upon completion of an open program.
