- to empower our girls through music
- to educate the audiences of tomorrow through musical literacy
- to encourage performance, both instrumental, choral and as part of dramatic and musical productions
All the girls take part in class music, where the focus is on music appreciation and interpretation, musical literacy and experiencing music through movement and dance. We use a three choir model:
- Junior Choir: Grade 1 – 3
- Intermediate Choir : Grade 4 & 5
- Senior Choir: Grade 6 & 7
We also have a Marimba Band, Drumming Band and Percussion Band, to give as many girls as possible the chance to be part of a performing ensemble.
Extra-Mural Music ProgrammeThe following instruments are offered as part of the Extra-Mural Music Programme:
- Piano
- Violin
- Cello
- Flute
- Drum Kit
- Clarinet
Once a year the Music and Drama Departments co-produce a large-scale production where all the girls in either the Foundation or Senior Primary Phases have a chance to perform. The termly Season Concerts are another platform of performance, where soloists as well as performance groups have a chance to show off their skill.
The greatest joy in music is to perform together and through these events we instill a love of performance and sharing the gift of music with our girls.
